Description

GARSEAL GARSEAL is a carrier less elastomeric modified bitumen waterproofing membrane manufactured fromrich mixtures of bitumen and selected SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) polymers, Vapor and waterproofing uniquely formulates membrane to provide high flexibility self-adhesive properties suitable for high or low temperature applications. Excellently providing high performance resistance to Methane, Random and CO2. Surfaced with tough cross-laminated high-density P.E and overlap on top side and silicon self-release on bottom side hence proper protection

– SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

Clean the surface smooth free of moisture and debris or any kind of substance that would prevent the membrane from adhering properly.

The roof must have a minimum slope of 1% (10mm per meter) evenly and continuously towards the drains. Surface must be primed with Gar-primer at the rate 4-5m2 /L. Allow the primer to dry overnigh

– MEMBRANE INSTALLATION

Remove the release film by peeling back not more than 30cms at time. Start to unroll the membrane keeping the adhesive side Remove the release film by peeling back not more than 30cms at time. Start to unroll the membrane keeping the adhesive side face down on the primed surface. Press down the membrane. Working from the center to the outer edges. This will expel all trapped air, ensuring good adhesion to the primed substrate. For subsequent rolls, align the adjacent roll along the factory-designed selvedge of the first roll. Re-roll the membrane. Peel back the selvedge on the initial roll, and then peel back the release film or paper from the second roll and place firmly. Done one meter at a time. The minimum end lap should be 150 mm and 100mm for side laps. If any mistake is committed, immediately remove the second roll and replace it before it reaches its full adhesion power. It is important to pass against the overlaps with a light wooden roller. Should always protect membranes in all application. Garshield protection boards are highly recommended as a flexible, semi hard easy to install protection mainly before backfi¬lling on vertical surfaces in underground tanking working. When application temperature drops below 10ºC, it is essential to heat the primed surfaces, before applying the membrane, either with gas-torch or hot air blower. At surface temperature below 5ºC, ensure all surfaces are dry and free of ice, frost and condensation. Expos material stored at temperatures below 20ºC to a warmer temperature for at least 4-8 hours. Ambient temperature above 50ºC may give rise to difficulty in removing the release warmer temperature for at least 4-8 hours. Ambient temperature above 50ºC may give rise to difficulty in removing the release fi¬lm or paper. It will be better to wait until the temperature goes down
